Frequently Asked Questions

What is CBD?

Cannabis and hemp plants produce hundreds of compounds. Some of these are compounds are called cannabinoids. Cannabidiol (CBD) is a compound known to have many medicinal and therapeutic effects.

Is CBD Psychoactive?

CBD is not psychoactive. In layman’s terms, this means that CBD won’t get you high. Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the compound found in marijuana, is known to produce the sensation of being high. CBD has no such effects.

Is CBD Legal?

Yes! CBD is legal in all 50 states. This is because CBD won’t get you high—unlike THC. When you take a drug test, the goal is to find THC in the bloodstream.

How does CBD affect the body?

The human body can produce its own form of cannabinoids (called endocannabinoids). There are two cannabinoid receptors in the human body, which are called CB1 and CB2. CB1 receptors are found in the brain and central system, while CB2 receptors are found in the peripheral nervous system. The CB1 receptors deal with the part of the brain that control movement, emotions, memories, and mood. The CB2 receptors found in the peripheral nervous system deal with the immune system. When CBD is administered to the human body, it binds to these receptors.

Are the products on your site lab tested?

Yes, every CBD product we sell is lab tested by a third party. We don’t sell any products that are not researched, analyzed, and vetted. When we created Cobyda, our goal was to create the most trusted CBD marketplace on the net. Our customers can have peace of mind knowing that the products they buy are fully safe to use.

What's the difference between hemp and marijuana?

There is some confusion between the distinction between hemp and marijuana. Both hemp and marijuana come from the Cannabis plant, but hemp has very low THC content. Hemp and marijuana are cultivated differently, have a different chemical makeup, and have a different appearance.

How do I use your CBD products?

CBD is usually consumed in four ways:

  • Sublingual – Sublingual CBD application is typically done with CBD oils. When CBD is administered sublingually, it is placed under the tongue up to 90 seconds for the mucus membranes in the mouth can absorb its active ingredients. When CBD is taken sublingually, it bypasses the digestive system and is quickly absorbed by the endocannabinoid system.
  • Topical – We sell several topical CBD products that are intended to be applied directly onto the skin. If you have a particular pain area, you can isolate the treatment by applying the topical CBD to that specific area. Topical products do not enter the blood stream.
  • Inhalation – With the use of a vaporizer, CBD can be inhaled. The vaporizer heats the CBD to the point where its active compounds are released. It bypasses the digestion system and hits the endocannabinoid system faster than ingestion methods.
  • Ingestion – One of the easiest ways to take CBD is to take it orally. When CBD is ingested, it passes through the digestive system, is metabolized by the liver, and it enters the bloodstream. CBD products that are ingested orally include edibles, capsules, and beverages.
